Abstract
Aims: Quality of Work Life (QWL) is a multifaceted and relative concept that is influenced by time, place, personal and social values. Regarded these facts, the present study was performed to determine the relationship between QWL and stress management in The Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs employees in Hamadan province.
Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 1391. The study population was all the employees of the Foundation of Martyrs and Veterans Affairs of Hamadan. the data was gathered using Holmes and Rahe Stress Scale and filled by the subjects simultaneously.
Results: The results showed that there are significant positive correlation between QWL and staffs' education (P=.031) and between QWL and their work history (P=.024). The Pearson correlation test also showed a significant negative relationship between the mean scours of the QWL and stress (P=.004). It means that the more QWL, the less stress.
Conclusion: Managers should pay more attention to their employees' QWL. They can create some QWL programs and open communication ways to influence their employees' participation in making decisions about their jobs and organizations. These programs need special consideration for the new employees and those who are in the lower levels of jobs.
