Aims: The mental and social health of adolescents is greatly influenced by parental monitoring. In fact, it has an important role in the affiliation of adolescents with their peers. Accordingly, this study aimed to investigate the influence of parental monitoring and affiliation with deviant peers on children’s aggression.

Methods: This is a correlational study done using structural equation modeling. Statistical population of the study included all male and female adolescents from military families of these, 457 were selected using cluster sampling. To collect the data, different scales such as Iranian adolescents’ risk-taking scale, parental monitoring scale and affiliation with delinquent peers were used. Then, the data were analyzed using structural equation modeling.

Results: The obtained results showed that there was a significant difference between girls and boys in aggressive manners, parental monitoring and affiliation with delinquent peers. The direct and indirect effectiveness of parental monitoring on aggressive manners were -0.26 and -0.35 respectively. Moreover, parental monitoring the affiliation with delinquent peers could significantly affect aggressive manners. The mediating model was able to explain 19% of the variance of aggression.

Conclusion: The model of this study in comparison with previous researches was suggestive of direct and indirect effectiveness of parental monitoring on aggressive behavior of adolescents. Accordingly, it is highly influential to pay attention to the parental monitoring role that decreases affiliation with delinquent peers and as a result reduces children’s aggression.

Aims: Drug dependency is counted as one of the serious flaws that could incapacitate the armed forces. Accordingly, this research aimed to compare problem-solving styles in normal and dependent soldiers in a cross sectional form of study in 2010.

Methods: It is a descriptive-comparative study with a sample of 100 subjects (50 drug-dependent soldiers accompanied by 50 normal ones). The tools in this study were scale of problem solving (Long and Cassidy) plus demographic questionnaire. Then, the data were analyzed using methods of descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistics (mean comparison, ANOVA) using SPSS software.

Results: Findings showed that two groups were different in all domains of problem-solving styles and drug-dependent group got higher means in the areas of helplessness, problem-solving control and avoidance style. The mentioned group had lower means in creative problem-solving style, problem-solving confidence and approach style (p < 0/001).

Conclusion: According to the results, it is recommended training the youth prone to danger in skills of increasing self-esteem, resistance against psychological pressures and finally relaxation and coping with stress for better interpersonal relationships.

Aims: People’s social behavior mainly depends on their moral reasoning level. Therefore, approaches which affect promotion of moral reasoning may provide the society with better social behavior.

Methods: This is a quasi-experimental research in pre-test and post-test design accompanied by a control group who were randomly assigned. Statistical population were adolescent students of Isfahan in the academic year of 92-93, of whom experimental group and control group were chosen through cluster random sampling.

Results: Statistical analysis shows that in pre-observation, the average score of moral reasoning for experimental group (1.33) was lower level than control group’s average (1.45). After the drama therapy, the experimental group’s average score of moral reasoning (2.44) increased in comparison to the control group (1.54). In fact, the difference between two groups was significant.

Conclusion: Results show that the experimental group has illustrated a considerable increase in moral reasoning. Actually, statistic results emphasized that drama therapy could improve the moral reasoning.

Aims: Comparison of effectiveness of a period of eight weeks Karate, Taekwondo and Judo training on physical fitness and cardiovascular risk factors in military students of Imam-Hossein University.

Methods: Dependent variables determined before and after eight weeks Karate, Taekwondo and Judo trainings. T-paired samples and one-way ANOVA were used for analysis of data at P < 0.05.

Results: Karate training led to elevation of Vo2max, muscular endurance and HDL and reduction of speed, Taekwondo training led to elevation of agility, muscular endurance, HDL and fibrinogen and reduction of Vo2max, speed and triglyceride and Judo trainings led to elevation of agility, muscular endurance, HDL and homocysteine and reduction of speed (P < 0.05). Vo2max was different between Karate with Taekwondo and Judo groups. Also elevation of muscular endurance in Judo athletes was higher than Taekwondo athletes (P < 0.05).

Conclusion: Karate, Taekwondo and Judo trainings were effective on elevation of muscular endurance, but more attention is needed to speed, agility and upper extremity endurance in Karate, speed, Vo2max and trunk muscles endurance in Taekwondo and speed and Vo2max in Judo. Also novel strategies are needed for modulation of cardiovascular risk factors in university students.

Aims: Effect of the deductibles on moral hazard has been approved in commercial insurance. But in medical care organizations that strategies are based on non-profitability conditions and major part of costs are funded through governmental supports, this can be different. In this survey evaluated the effect of the deductibles on moral hazard among insured’s of a Healthcare Organization in Tehran.

Methods: This cross - sectional study was performed among insured’s of military healthcare organization in Tehran. 554 households have been selected from household budgeting survey data from 2010 that filtered based on membership in the Healthcare Organization. For data analysis Eviews software and Minitab statistical software were used.

Results: Results showed that there is a negative relationship between moral hazard and deductibles (with significance level of 85%). Also observed that increasing in income and age lead to increasing in moral hazard (with significance level of 90& 95%) but analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between marital status and moral hazard.

Conclusion: When insured’s participate in medical losses in case of involving deductibles, it prevents enhancing using of unnecessary medical services by them.

Aims: Cutaneous leishmaniasis as a public health problem in most countries throughout the world, mainly in tropical and subtropical areas is common. Iran is among the countries where the disease is endemic and in the southern region of the province of Fars, it has been observed at the utmost prevalence. This paper is concerned about some climatic parameters with the prevalence of the disease in the city of Larestan.

Methods: This study is an applied research in correlational design in which library techniques were employed. Data collection was conducted on the paraclimate, rainfall, temperature, relative humidity and sunshine hours during the period 1390-1382 from the weather station of Larestan and related information of the patients from the health center during this period. Statistical analysis was done using Excel and SPSS software.

Results: The highest prevalence of the disease has occurred in the months of January and February. Climatic parameters of rainfall and relative humidity had inverse correlation with the prevalence of disease. However, temperature and sunshine hours showed a direct relationship with the prevalence of disease.

Conclusion: Larestan city due to a hot and dry climate has provided the foundation for the outbreak of cutaneous leishmaniasis in the area. Actually, climatic parameters such as precipitation, relative humidity, temperature and sunshine hours engage in the prevalence of disease.
