The Iranians achieved great successes in the Eight-Year Defense and the Twelve-Day Defense, but they did not allow the enemy to achieve their illegitimate goals. The reason why the enemies were provoked and attacked Iran, and the reason why the Iranians were defeated in many wars and why they did not defeat in the two recent wars, must be understood in the cognitive basis of their decision-making and performance. For this reason, addressing the cognitive basis of the enemy's and Iranian's performance in these two wars and their differences from previous wars is an important point that must be considered. Two of the most important reasons for Iran's success in these wars can be considered the solidarity of Iranians around their national religious identity and the existence of an informed, knowledgeable, and forward-looking leadership. در تارخ معاصر ایران جنگ‌های فراوانی رخ داده و هر بار نیز به دلیل ضعف علمی و فناوری ایرانیان، شکست‌هایی بر ایران تحمیل شده است. در این میان دو جنگ اخیر دفاع هشت ساله و دفاع  12 روزه، ایرانیان موفقیت‌های بزرگی را کسب کردند و نگذاشتند دشمن به اهداف نامشروع خود برسد. علت اینکه چرا دشمنان تحریک شدند و به ایران حمله کردند و علت اینکه ایرانیان چرا در بسیاری از جنگ ها شکست می‌خوردند و چرا در دو جنگ اخیر شکست نخوردند را بایستی در زیربنای شناختی تصمیم‌گیری و عملکرد آن ها دانست. به همین دلیل پرداخت به اساس شناختی کارکرد دشمن و ایرانیان در این دو جنگ و تفاوت آن با جنگ‌های قبلی نکته مهمی است که بایستی مد نظر قرار گیرد. دو مورد از مهمترین دلایل موفقیت ایران در این جنگ ها را می توان همبستگی ایرانیان حول هویت ملی مذهبی آنان و وجود رهبری آگاه، دانشمند و آینده نگر دانست. https://militarymedj.bmsu.ac.ir/article_1001320_218d9092565948a895bccba7306589d0.pdf
