However, the issue of spirituality is not included in the educational content. The purpose of this study was to the effect of spiritual care training on the empathy and professional commitment of nurses at Bam University of Medical Sciences.<br /><strong>Methods:</strong> This was a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 80 nurses from different wards of Pasteur Hospital affiliated to Bam University of Medical Sciences were divided into two groups of intervention and control using a simple random sampling. Spiritual care training program in the intervention group was held as a 2-session webinar. The questionnaire used included the Jefferson Standard Empathy Questionnaire, the Kleikman and Henning Professional Commitment Questionnaire, and the Demographic Information Form.<br /><strong>Results:</strong> The results showed a significant difference between the mean scores of professional commitments before (33.11 ± 0.32) and after (65.43 ± 0.28) the intervention and also the empathy variable before (53.41 ± 0.21) and after (78.83 ± 0.25) of the intervention in the experimental group (<em>P</em><0.05). This difference was not observed in the scores before and after the intervention in the control group. Also, there was no significant difference between the mean scores of professional commitment and empathy of the subjects before the intervention (<em>P</em>>0.05) while there was a significant difference between the mean scores of professional commitment and empathy of the two groups after the intervention (<em>P</em><0.05), which indicated that these scores improved due to the intervention.<br /><strong>Conclusion: </strong>According to the results of this study, it is suggested that the spiritual care training program should be inserted in-service training programs or nurses' curriculum content to promote nursing professional commitment and empathy. <strong>زمینه و هدف:</strong> آموزش پرستاران در مورد ارزش‌های معنوی به درک عمیق مشکلات و افزایش کیفیت مراقبت‌ها کمک می‌کند. با این حال، موضوع معنویت در برنامه‌های آموزش پرستاری لحاظ نشده است. هدف از انجام این پژوهش، تأثیر آموزش مراقبت معنوی بر همدلی و تعهد حرفه‌ای پرستاران بود.<br /><strong>روش‌ها:</strong> این پژوهش پیش ­آزمون- پس ­آزمون بر روی 80 نفر از پرستاران بخش­ های بیمارستان پاستور بم انجام شد. برنامه آموزش مراقبت معنوی در گروه مداخله به صورت وبینار 2 جلسه­ ای برگزار گردید. ابزارهای مورد استفاده، پرسشنامه‌های استاندارد همدلی جفرسون و پرسشنامه تعهد حرفه‌ای کلایکمن بودند.<br /><strong>یافته‌ها: </strong>نتایج مطالعه اختلاف معنی ­داری را بین میانگین نمرات تعهد حرفه‌ای قبل 0/32 ± 33/11 و بعد 0/28 ± 65/43 از مداخله و همچنین متغیر همدلی قبل 0/21 ± 53/41 و بعد 0/25 ± 78/83 از مداخله در گروه مداخله نشان داد (0/05>P). این اختلاف در نمرات متغیرهای مذکور قبل و بعد از مداخله در گروه کنترل مشاهده نشد. همچنین بین میانگین نمرات تعهد حرفه ­ای و نیز همدلی واحدهای مورد پژوهش قبل از مداخله به صورت معنی‌داری اختلاف وجود نداشته (0/05<P)؛ اما بعد از انجام مداخله بین میانگین نمرات تعهد حرفه‌ای و همدلی پرستاران در دو گروه به صورت معنی‌داری اختلاف به وجود آمده (0/05<em>></em>P) که حاکی از ارتقاء این نمرات به دلیل انجام مداخله می‌باشد.<br /><strong>نتیجه‌گیری:</strong> با توجه به تأثیرگذاری آموزش مراقبت معنوی در جهت ارتقای تعهد حرفه ­ای و همدلی پرستاری، پیشنهاد می­ شود مراقبت معنوی در محتوای درسی پرستاران گنجانده شود. https://militarymedj.bmsu.ac.ir/article_1001204_5197e2750a57023ebc70c5d82d4088b4.pdf
